Congratulations to Dr. Wil Blechman, recipient of the 2018 Chiles Advocacy Award! Dr. Blechman, a member of the First 1000 Days Florida Coalition was honored at the Children’s Week dinner on Monday.
Dr. Blechman retired from medical practice in 1994 to devote his efforts to advocating for young children and explaining their developmental needs to policymakers, business leaders, civic organizations and others. As an active club member and International Kiwanis President, Dr. Blechman launched the landmark Young Children Priority One initiative — a worldwide effort promoting investment in young children.
Dr. Blechman also volunteered as a member of the Children’s Trust of Miami-Dade, the Florida Children’s Forum, Florida Association for Infant Mental Health and the Lawton Chiles Foundation. We value Dr. Blechman’s continued leadership and involvement in the First 1000 Days Florida Coalition!
